The original 200-year old "Homestead of Oldenburg" was carefully restored, renovated and opened up for easy modern family living, retaining its essential historical provenance with gracious Cape Dutch and Cape Revival proportions.
"The idea was to modernize the house, whilst keeping its essential character" explains owner Adrian Vanderspuy
When considering the interiors, Vanessa Vanderspuy’s inspiration came from the traditional aspects of the house that give it such natural grace. She collaborated with Virginia Azevedo from Geneva, where the family is based.
"Virginia was instrumental and invaluable in helping me come up with the design concept for the Homestead" Vanessa Vanderspuy
